A BIT ABOUT US
Renfrew was established in the 1940's, after the Calgary Airport relocated from its original site on the corner of 6th Street and Regal Crescent. It was primarily built for veterans and their families.
Renfrew is a vibrant inner city community in Calgary, bordered by Edmonton Trail to the west, Nose Creek Valley to the east, the Trans-Canada Highway to the north and the Bow River escarpment to the south. The downtown core is within three kilometers and is directly accessible by Edmonton Trail.
The many independently owned shops, cafes and restaurants along Edmonton Trail create a vibrant “Main Street”. The proximity to downtown, combined with the “small town” neighborhood feel, make this the perfect community for those looking for inner-city conveniences without the hustle and bustle of downtown living.
Renfrew is a community that lends itself to an active lifestyle. Within our community you will find the Renfrew Community Garden, Bottomlands Park, the city-run Renfrew Aquatic and Fitness Centre, the Renfrew Athletic Park and two Arenas. Residents also enjoy direct access to walking and cycling paths as Renfrew borders the Nose Creek Bike path, which connects in the north with the West Nose Creek pathways and in the south with the Bow River Pathways.
Renfrew is a community for all ages with fitness facilities, fields, playgrounds, schools, churches, and the Calgary Boys and Girls Club right in our neighbourhood. The Calgary Zoo, the Tom Campbell's Hill off leash area, and Telus Spark are within walking distance.
Renfrew really is a great place to be, and it really is A COMMUNITY THAT CARES.
The Renfrew Community Association proudly uses
